timberwolves
Current mood: tired
so I went to the T wolves game tonight, won tickets from work witch is pretty cool. Amy went with me and we had a good time. They lost with like .6 seconds left on the clock and that was lame but it was fun to go its been a really long time since i have been to see them. Crunch caught some dude picking his nose on the crunch cam that was really funny, i don't think i have hurd that many people laugh at the same time. Getting back to the car was a little difficult because some jack-hole decided to close off the skyway that went back to the parking garage that we were parked in, so we ended up walking around minneapolis finding a diff enterance to this place.. well we didnt find out so we dicided to throw caution to the wind and ran up the entrance ramp that is be only for cars, got yelled at by a security renta pig for that one... and got lost sortof on the way to 394 but it was a rather enjoyable night..

misc
Current mood: chipper
yesterday was interesting, Catherine and I took the day off so that we could go apple picking... We find this really food orchard in lakeville, MN we drive 45 minutes to get there and it was closed. So we were like shit so were driving home and decided to stop at the burnsville perkins for something to eat. we get there and drive in the parking lot and there was this short bus that wasa blocking this ladys view and she drive right in to the side of the pontiac.. hit the rear drivers door so its all scrapped to shit. we waited like 30 minutes for the cop to show up, yay for burnsville. So we finally get to eat and then go home, we make an appointment to take the car to pontiac to get an estamate. we go and theres 2200+ dollars worth of damage from a less then 10 mph hit from a deville. so we were driving back and like 3 other cars and there stupid drivers were swerving in and out of lanes of traffic and almost hit us as well. we were driving to MOA and something fell off one of the over hang signs and hit the front of the pontiac but didnt do anything.. yesterday was a very interesting day in the car indeed.. well lesson learn.. I guess we need not to start the day out with apple picking anymore.. or its just my bad luck we shall see how today goes.

OMG fire!
Current mood: amused
So there was a fire at work today, that was interesting. So I am talking to this very nice lady about how all three of her beds (twin, half a double, and half a queen) all started to leak at the same time. I was thinking to myself, man I really wish I was not on this call. 30 seconds later the fire alarm goes off and I am like WTF . So ussually when the fire alarm goes off its just a drill, and we dont leave the building in a drill becuase we are on the phone. Then julie (the not so nice receptionist) comes on the intercom, "this is not a drill please evacuate the building" I was like well mrs really nice lady, there is a fire in the building and i have to go. She was like OMG good luck and hung up. So we go out side and sit there for a while, every body comes out of the building and is waiting in the grass next to the parking lot. Amy, Catherine, Brian williams and myself are standing there thinking is there really a fire then the answer comes. Yes 2 fire trucks and 4-5 police cars come and the firemen are all in there suits and whatnot. go in the building while one stays behind to undo hoses just incase. So we are out side for like 15 minutes then the firemen start to come back out and we wait some more then they say we can go back in. Well when we get in there they quite haven't figured out how to turn off the fire alarms yet.. believe me it is near impossible to talk to someone on teh phone when the fire alarms are going off.. So they decide that we can go back out side until they figure out how to turn them off.. By this point Brian and I are like screw this lets go and get some damn tacos.. So we leave and go to Taco Bell.. By the time that we get back the alarms are off ande back to normal. This also made the rest of the day go by very fast! Yay for a interesting day at work.
Oh and last night there were these two girls out side the front door of the apartment building at like 1am yelling at each other that was entertaining aswell expectally when 2 police cars came to break it up!
Other than that nothing really is happening same ole same ole ya know?

Camping
Current mood: refreshed
So last weekend was awesome, Catherine and I went to Baker Park and went camping.. It was a pretty relaxing weekend the only thing i would have changed was i would have liked to have a little more shade.. thus resulting in minor sunburns. but oh well... Zoe came along with and we pretty much gave her some swimming lessons aka i threw her off the end of a dock a couple times and she swam to shore! That was very entertaining. Also there were these people that were camping to the left of us and had two siberian huskies that liked to bark at 3 in the morning *shakes fist* damn them. and it took the people to the right about 45 minutes to set up there 2 person tent. the only reason thats funny to me is that Catherine and I set up our tent that is sposed to sleep 6 in about 15 minutes. mind you it was only out second time setting up the tent ever...
Oh and when we got home we got out of the car and in the garage was a leather couch.. we got in the elevator and the lady that put it there was like yeah i'm getting rid of that.. catherine and i look at each other and were like "its ours now" so we got rid of our crappy couch and got a free leather couch.. i repeat free. Given that its not in the best shape, they had a dog and you can tell.. but i really don't care becuase its not we have a lot of money in it.. LOL. anyway, i am at work since 7:30 this morning and Catherine is out on a ride-along with the home delivery tech for mpls so that should be interesting for her... but i spose this blog is getting kinda long for my taste so i will end it here.

Our Cars Hate Me
So yeah, the title pretty much says it all. It all started last tuesday, we were out for dinner with kevin. Everything was fine, then when i went to leave got from catherine parents house to hwy 10 and main in anoka and the buick died. Wouldn't start back up at all!! Left it for a while on the side of the road, went back to catherines parents house to figure out what to do. Called my dad and he ended up coming down to anoka to pull the buick back to catherines parents house with the santa fe. Were it would wait until morning when we would then have it towed to the mechanic to get fixed. So everything was fine. Turns out the ignition switch was bad so the car was not getting any spark. That was totaly opposite what i thought i thought that the feul pump was bad and that there was no gas at the engine. So they fix it. We pick it up and i drive it. WOW it was like driving a new car. Until i get almost home, 494 and rockford, and getting off the hwy on the exit ramp it dies again. i get stopped on the side of the road turn the key off and then it starts back up again. Weird, but then it does it agian when i get off fernbrook on the 34th. So I called the mechanic the next day and we were going to bring it back to have him look at it. that was thursday night. It still has not made it back to the shop.
Thats because on friday night when we were going to go and drop it off, when i got off work, we were going to go out and get a bite to eat. when we pull out of the garage in the pontiac the low coolant light came on! I thought oh great, what now. So we turn around and I don't know why but i didn't see the huge puddle under were the pontiac was parked in the garage. So I get to looking and start it back up and there is a steady stream of coolant coming out of the water pump when it was running. Great the freaking pump is leaking. So what eves that not a big deal, changed a bunch of those before. So the next day we get up go to napa and get the parts I go back and replace the pump. I notice when i was looking at the car to see whats up that the serpintine belt was in really bad shape and is going to need to be replaced really soon. So we get one when we are at napa. The waterpump replacement went really smooth, one of the easiest things that i have had to so with catherines car as of late. Went to bed and woke up and had to go to work today, well yesterday. Driving to work and we turn on to trenton off basslake and the damn belt snaps. i quickly turn off the engine and we coast to a stop. We push the car to near by parking lot and walk the rest of the way to work. So after work, sonja takes us home and George and Sara came over and Catherine and Sara went to cub and George drove me over to fix the belt. So this belt is the stupidest thing on the face of the planet and if I ever meet the person that decided to put the engine mount in the middle of the belt so you have to take that off to change it, I will kick them in the nuts!!! Anyway so we jack the front end of the car up then loosen up the motor mount, then have to jack the engine from undernieght to prevent it from falling to the ground. George ends up getting the belt off while i was adjusting the engine hieght, then we get it all back together and everything is fine with that. Ran great all the way home. BUT WHATS NEXT??
So anyway new topic. I asked kevin and George to be groomsmen in our wedding and both said yes, so excited about this. Now just the Best Man and I am set. Then planning for Tuxedo fittings and drinking or whatnot since kevin is not 21.
Well I am tired, time to go to bed, I just really needed to rant about all my problems with the cars..

mustang
Current mood: excited
I recently restarted a an old progect of mine, with my car the ole 4cyl mustang. ok so heres the low down on that. 1992 notchback mustang, with a 2.3 I4 N/A (for now) with 105bhp and 125 torque. Body is in pretty decent shape, some of the plans that i have for this car at the moment would be to change the exhaust system out. I am going to be running a pacesetter long tube header, magnaflow high flow cataylic converter, and a flowmaster delta flow 40 series muffler. Piece together a custom cold air intake. If i feel up to it, install the 65mm throttle body and the ported intake manifold that i have had for about 3 years now. I should be sitting at about 160 bhp and 180 torque, hopefully and then it will not be so horribly slow :). So i guess not that many people are going to read this and understand what i just said, so more along the lines documenting my plans and also asking if anybody has any ideas for exterior things that i should do. I do have a set of stock GT pony rims they are 16" witch is an upgrade from the 14's that are on it now, but they need tires. So I am open to any ideas that you guys have.. thanks

New work status
I quit my job at HomeSmart from Xcel Energy. The reason behind that is that NAP (Network Access Products) that was my part time nights job. Offered to bring me on full time. I didn't want to leave Xcel mostly because the people are great. But it was time for me to get on with my life. I wouldn't be going anywhere there (more than likely). I had been a temp for just over a year with no hiring me on in sight. So when NAP offered full time with holiday pay, vacation, and benefits. Also a 25% raise in pay. How could I say no. Catherine and I also really want a house. This change in my work will also get us there. Oh and its only a 7-10 minute drive to work. YAY to that. After I interviewed for this NAP position. It snowed pretty bad and one morning it took me 1.5 hours to get to Saint Paul for work. I will def not miss that. :p
So were house hunting now that I have a permanent position with NAP. I will keep you all posted on that as it unfolds.

hehehe
So I decided on my TV. I am going to get Samsung 37" 720p LCD model LN37A450, also I have decided that I am going to be upgrading my DVD player with the TV to a blu ray player. I figured what the hell. Might as well. I'm going to have a HD TV might aswell us it right?
So my work, is hard up for new customers. So they made a deal with us, they will give us 5 bucks for every new customer that we sign up for our HomeSmart plan. The only kicker is that they are going to give it to me in a gift certificate so its not taxable. Which is good, not complaining about that. But i think I am going to have to by the TV from crutchfield now. Again no big deal, shipping is free and its 100 bucks less there then at bestbuy. So I guess my point is that when we are all said and done, my work is going to be paying for a little more than half of this new tv and blue ray player. Which by my count is THE SHIT. YAY 50% off.
Isn't it pretty. I am super excited!! :)

random update
So yeah, update time. Somethings to talk about.
Amy (my sister) is prego and found out that she will be having a boy. YAY so excited. I get to be an uncle all over again. Very exciting for everything. Anna is such a sweet girl, I love her to death but the baby boy will want to do boy things with me and that will be awesome.
The mustang is sold. :( When we got it back from St Paul. were it died we had Ambers brother in law come over and check it out. Turns out that when I had Kennedy change the tranny fluid. That should have never been done. There was 1/4 inch of metal shavings on the tranny pan when we dropped it. The gears were grinding and wearing them apart. So I sold it to Nick (ambers bro in law) and he put a new tranny in it. It worked great for about 2 weeks and then I here from Amber that its broken down. Apparently the oil pump went out so he is going to have to replace that and the piston rings. Rebuild time. So glad that I don't have to deal with that. It sucked having to sell it but that made me a little happier about it. I love that car but it was starting to be a money pit. He wanted it as a project car anyway.
Ok, so now I don't have a car, right? Wrong, I purchased the buick from my dad. It was the best used car deal that you could imagine. I drove it for 3 years prior to purchasing it so I already know what it does and doesn't do. its maintenance history and all that. Plus I got a pretty good deal on it so yeah. Works out.
Halloween has come and gone. It was awesome. Brian and Tyler threw a party at there place so we went there after going to the halloween party at the bylands. Yummy pizza burgers. Brians party was very interesting. He got really really drunk and was funny until he got sick. We took good care of him though. I was a cop and catherine was a watermelon. She drank watermelon pucker all night. It was very cute. I will have to upload pics later.
NAP - I picked up a 2nd job working at Network Access Products Inc. I am a Tier 1 help desk Tech for Select Comfort. HAHAHA I know. I will never get a way from that company, no matter how hard I try. This job is fun money for me. I am going to get a new laptop (as mine is busted) getting a new TV (for the digital conversion) and other misc things I might have my eye on. I was looking at this sweet 37" Samsung LCD 720p TV it was very sexy. Only time will tell I guess.
Well I guess that brings us current. Oh Catherine and I are still living with her mom. Thats actually going pretty well. Its gotten better. I think that the joining of 2 families in one house hold was strange but we just needed to get used to each other. Plus now that I work 50+ hours a week, and Catherine is starting school soon, and when we have a spare minute we go to snap to work out. Oh and RCIA every Wednesday night. We are never there anyway. Holy crap I forgot to update on RCIA. I have decided to convert to become Catholic. I think that it will be better to have a one faith family instead of the kids being raised Catholic and not me. I am currently going threw the classes and it ends the day before easter. That should be fun. Its not been to insteresting so far. But they have to start from scratch with most people. Because there are people that are not baptized in my class. I will start to learn more as time goes on I think.
Until later.

trip to duluth 2008
So we have this friend, she and her husband are awesome. Sonja and Lars. They for our wedding present bought Catherine and I a one-night stay in a hotel. We went to Duluth this past weekend. Technically the hotel was in Procter. The Americ-inn. It was awesome, we got a king jacuzzi suite. Ok, to tell this story we should start from the beginning of the weekend.
Friday – Started ok, woke up like any other day. That day though I was taking a half-day off work so that I could come home, so Nick (ambers brother in law) could come over and fix the mustang. So I work and I leave at 1:30, which is awesome. Get home about 2 and started some laundry so I could pack for the weekend. Nick comes and he starts on the car. I in the mean time am in the garage working on filling the holes in the sub-box that I got from Tyler. I get done with that, Catherine comes home and we are packing for the weekend. I get curious and go down to talk to Nick, just to see what's happening with it. He gets the pan off and is looking at the filter. He had originally thought that it was the filter and it had fallen off and the tranny lost pressure, which is why it wasn't working at all. We soon found that was not the case. He was going to put it back together because we were not sure that the problem was. Until he was looking at the tranny pan. There was about 1/8 of an inch of metal shavings on the bottom of it. Bad news my tranny is shot. Needs to be rebuilt or replaces. NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. So the weekend was not off to such a good start.
After the last load of laundry is done, I finish packing and we get all set to go out for dinner with Annah, Jeremy, and Brain. We went to Denny's that was good. Then we went back to Brain's for a fire. Not too long and Tyler joined. Kyle eventually came too. We went home, with the intent of going to sleep and waking up early to get on the road up to Duluth. Well that didn't happen as we would have liked it. We got going about 10ish.
Once on the road it was great. The leaves are changing on the way up there and there are a lot of scenic things to look at while driving. We stopped at North Branch outlet mall to see if anything was good. We didn't get anything. Nothing was going on there, except the attack of the ladybugs. Seriously there were at least 2 trillion ladybugs. Yes I counted them. LOL… so any way that sucked, but we got back on the road.
We get up to Duluth and we were going to go to the zoo but they were doing this stupid Halloween thing were there were going to be about a million little kids running around and I didn't want to deal with that. So we didn't go. We went to the boardwalk instead. We went to Grandma's for lunch. There was a 45-minute wait, but there was immediate seating upstairs so we went with that. Big mistake, the upstairs has 1/3 the menu (according to Catherine) so yeah, it was ok but not great. After lunch we went for a walk on the boardwalk. Then it was time to check in at the hotel so we went back to do that. After we check in we get the room all situated, we decide to go for a swim. So we get changed and we head down to the pool. Well we are playing around in the pool and we see a giant hot tube so we got in to that thing. Then there were these strange people that were in the sauna and they came out and got in the hot tub with us. They kept throwing towels in the water. Very strange. So after that we went to dinner at the restaurant attached to the hotel. Awesome, top 5 steaks of my life. Catherine had cedar plank salmon. Which looked very good. After that we went to the gas station and got some snacks and drinks for that night. Then went back to the restaurant but to the bar this time and had a drink. Then we went back the room were we used the jacuzzi and watch some TV. It was very nice end to that day.
In the morning we woke up and went to get the free breakfast that they had. It was badass. They had a waffle maker and cereal, and muffins and bagels and stuff. Best continental breakfast every, well that I've had anyway. After that we cleaned up in the room packed and checked out. We were on the way to Duluth so we could on our cruise. Catherine had pre-booked us on the Vista King boat. That was very cool. They took us out behind a tanker in to lake superior. Then turned around and got a tour of the commercial part of Duluth harbor. We got a lot of cool pictures. After the tour we went to red lobster for lunch. Something about being out on the water made me hungry for seafood. We had shrimp. After finishing up with lunch we went up past st. scholastica, to go shopping at miller hill mall. We wondered around for a while and didn't really buy anything.
For dinner Catherine wanted to go to Pizza Luce. That was good we had wings and pizza. Was pretty good. After dinner we decided to head home. After we got to about Hinckley. That's when things got interesting. So we were just driving a long minding our own business when just up ahead there was this lady and she was speeding up and slowing down, swerving all over the place. Half the time she was driving down the middle of both lanes. So we decided to call it in. Catherine is talking to the state patrol on the phone and this chick in an s10 almost hits someone. We are following this person and the dispatcher has a squad on the way. So a couple minutes later I see this car coming up pretty fast. I move over and it flies past me. Gets right up behind the s10, has to wait for it to do something then pops on the lights. I feel kind of bad, but just kind of for calling it in because we totally just screwed that ladies night up but, she shouldn't have been drinking and driving. We could have saved someone's life by calling it in.
Well that was my weekend. It was a very nice get away with enough things that happened to keep anyone interested. I am putting pictures up on facebook. I would do it here but this post is long enough already.
